You hear a knock at the door, usually at dinner time when things are hectic. You are greeted smugly by a police officer and a Child Protective Services (CPS) worker. They ask to come in and talk to you. You agree. (You will later learn you have just surrendered your rights.) You sit there stunned as CPS tells you some "secret, protected source" has reported you have somehow harmed your perfectly happy, perfectly healthy children (or someone else's child). CPS assures you they will investigate and find the truth. You believe them because you KNOW you are a civilized, responsible parent and the "right thing" will happen.

They don't have one, but the officer assures you it is legal bacause "the Judge" has authorized this. In the twinkling of an eye your children are being led away by strangers. While every fiber in your being is telling you to simply close the door and get them out of there, you allow the removal because you are now threatened with arrest. Out of fear, you try to stay calm and cooperate as CPS promises they will check the facts. As they shove a blank form with only a date filled out in front of you, allegedly approved by a Judge, they tell you if you are innocent, they will return your children "soon."
You now watch in horror as CPS drags your children (kicking and screaming) to the car. They are begging for hugs and kisses to say goodbye but the officer holds you back, again threathening you with arrest if you "interfere." While the "nice people" take them away in a little white car to a "nice" home with other "nice people," your nightmare begins. Your children are with strangers and you are allowed no contact. But you have that piece of paper that says you'll see your children in court within 72 hours. You believe they will come home then when it's all cleared up, for surely it will be. This is a horrible mistake.
No one, especially CPS, tells you the REST OF THE STORY...
