I am a parent and a concerned community member. I am in the process of trying to develop what I believe to be a much needed non-profit organization. My particular area is riddled with corruption from the social workers all the way up to the Superior Court level. For that reason, I don't really know how to categorize myself.
I want to help make a difference in reforming the policies and procedures of child protective services. I believe that laws which were enacted to protect and preserve the American family, as well as to protect children, have been abused by practitioners in the fields of psychology, sociology and law. The laws were poorly crafted and are not practiced uniformly. There is too much corruption.
My goal is to see one central repository of information where those who are aware of and educated on the issues could meet, collaborate and disseminate vital information for parents who have become enmeshed in the child welfare system. I believe parents are who are in the middle of child custody battles, those who have been falsely accused, or even in the middle of an amicable divorce are disenfranchised when they become involved with "the system" and, more often than not, they are ostracized by society (or their own families) at a critical time when they need a good support network the most. Most of them have no idea where to turn, what to do, or how to fight for their rights while serving the best interests of their children.
For many years I have wanted to form a foundation for the purpose of providing information, resources and good quality referrals for those who are falsely accused. I would like to develop and maintain a relationship with existing sites and organizations to form a cohesive outreach program for victims of child abuse laws.
I am only one person and I will need good quality guidance, collaboration, participation and assistance from many if I am to achieve my goal. I want this site to be informative and, most importantly, credible. Far too many sites regarding these issues are full of misinformation and some prey on the "emotions" of parents who need help, not condemnation. Links posted here will be under constant review to insure the integrity of the site and the information provided for all involved.
SaveOurDestiny.com is dedicated to advancing public knowledge about the right to privacy in raising our family and to deny unwarranted government intrusion in our daily lives. Our goal is to eliminate government funded corruption, lack of accountability, and reform Child Protective Services. We strive to support all families and individuals caught up in the child welfare system through education, support, networking and legislative reform.
"More" doesn’t necessarily mean "merrier" when it comes to fighting CPS. In the case of CPS corruption, most people willing to talk about these issues have already lived their own personal nightmare. Some have been threatened into silence, not knowing how much support is out there for them. Many want to move on and forget it ever happened. Many want to help others avoid what happened to them and don't know where to begin. A vast majority of our population doesn't believe us when we tell them about it. They call us crackpots, charlatans, or say we are "paranoid" and summarily dismiss us. Many are totally unaware of the issues and others are only now becoming aware. This issue gets a sizzle in the pan when some case hits the news, but it dies out quickly. Who wants to hear about all this? Not many, unfortunately. Not until it hits them in the face, that is. Usually, by that time, it's a day late and they're a dollar short.
We need to change the "stigma" attached to the "accused," stop the publicly supported "witch hunts" and free our nation's resources for the "real" victims out there. If more of us band together, the larger our base camp becomes. The larger the base camp, the louder our voices become. We need to educate the public, gain the respect of those who call us "charlatans" and become a deafening roar which can no longer be ignored by our paid government servants.
SaveOurDestiny has been around for quite a while BUT I have restructured the site. Before, it was simple links and information. I am well on my way to completing a fully interactive community with the following goals:
*Note: It's great to have links for people to follow, but there's a great deal of misinformation out there. Bad information for the uneducated or misinformed can cost someone their entire family. We want to make sure everything on our site is accurate and current. While it requires time to research each article prior to publication it will insure we don't lead others astray. Additionally, when you land on a site and every article is "outsourced" the average internet user gets lost. Sites move or sometimes disappear due to many reasons. It could be lack of funding or other times people exhaust themselves, give up. Some simply lose interest. Links change or get relocated. Content changes over time, is rewritten or the information simply disappears because someone else thinks it isn't relevant. Worse, once published, content may be altered which changes the flavor or the intent. Without constant monitoring of every link on a site, this could be disastrous to those who count on this information.
SaveOurDestiny.com would like to publish original content on site to avoid confusion for the visitors who really need our help. We solicit original material and encourage anyone who has a blog to include their content here as well. This way, relocated/discontinued information from other sources won't be lost.
Additionally, you may only write occasionally, decide to stop writing, or lose heart. You may not have enough time to devote to a full site or you can no longer afford to keep your own site/blog up and running. (Of course there are no restrictions on publishing your own content elsewhere.) SaveOurDestiny can benefit both the public and you by keeping your published works in a central repository for safe keeping.
No ONE person can accomplish the goals of SaveOurDestiny.com singlehandedly. We need a community of many talented people if we are to succeed. We need trustworthy, dedicated people who can work together as a team. It doesn't take Einstein or a college degree to contribute. All you need is a willingness to pitch in, a desire to seek and acknowledge the truth in an impartial manner, and the ability to debate openly and honestly about the issues facing us all.
Using today's state of the art technology to collect accurate information and data will benefit all of us. There's power in knowledge AND in numbers.
